As I was getting my daily Pinterest fix today, I stumbled on this infographic of leadership traits of today's greatest CEO's. As a school leader, I feel you must have some quality that stands out among all other qualities. If I had to choose one quality that helps me be a better leader each day, I would say it was TENACIOUS. I love what I do and the people that I work with but sometimes the job requires you to be tough, stubborn, and persistent. What is your greatest leadership trait?
Do you need a pep talk every now and then or a kick in the right direction? This is a great speech from such a young person. He says, "If you have a heart beat, it's time to do something. Stop being boring. Don't stop believing and dreaming."
What will you create to help make the world an awesome place? Let's make each day better for each other.
This attitude came to me last week when I went on a home visit. This child's home was not like our homes. This home was not fit for living, including, no utilities and food. However, the child was destined to live in these conditions each day while struggling to complete homework. Sometimes, we are all the students have. We are the only stability in their lives. We are often the only ones to show them we care.
If you are counting down the days until summer, so is the student. They may not have the free breakfast and lunch tray each day. They may not have that smile each morning that you can provide. Hug a child today and let them know you care. Inspire them and make a difference today.
