Winter Comprehension Passages for Young Learners

Building strong comprehension strategies begins early.  Rainbow comprehension allows even the youngest learners to use text evidence to build comprehension strategies.  This new theme is for kindergarten and lower first grade students.

Rainbow Comprehension is best used in small group or guided with the teacher.  It requires very little prep.  Just print and go.  Students will need blue, yellow and green crayons, highlighters, or colored pencils.  The students read the passage at least two times.  The teacher reads the questions and guides the student to locate the answer using the correct color.

This packet is a great way to "Quick Check" comprehension with your students each week as well as build a foundation of reading strategies with the younger students.
